Basic details
Background
This is the program for the Worthington High School production of "Tea House of the August Moon" by John Patrick. The play was presented on November 18 and 19, 1977, in the Worthington High School auditorium.
The cover shows an ink drawing of a building and a woman holding a parasol. The title of the play appears at the top, and "1977-1978" is written in the corner. Text at the bottom of the cover reads, "November 18th and 19th, 1977" and "Presented by: Worthington High School Thespians." Page two lists special thanks; page three lists the production staff; page four lists the cast; page five lists the scenes; page six lists the technical crews; page seven lists ushers, personal patrons, and business patrons; and page eight contains advertisements.
The production was directed by Bronwynn Hopton, who taught drama at Worthington High School/Thomas Worthington High School from 1973-2013. In 1988, she founded the Worthington High School Theatre Repertory. Countless alumni cite her influence for their love of theater, or even their professional success in the field. An October 24, 2010 "Columbus Dispatch" article quotes her as saying, "Theater is not just a superfluous after-school event, but something we study that deserves the same focus as science, math or history. " Her first name graces the Bronwynn Theatre at the McConnell Arts Center.
