Basic details
Background
Pictured here is Ruth Griswold in Berkley, California, August 29, 1964. She is shown standing on a sidewalk alongside a residential street, next to a bouquet of flowers.
Ruth was one of fourteen children of Worthington Franklin Griswold and Fondelia Ruth Griswold, and a great-granddaughter of Worthington pioneer Ezra Griswold, who built and opened the Griswold Inn adjacent to the northeast quadrant of the Village Green. The Inn was converted to a residence where Worthington F. Griswold raised his family. Ruth was the last occupant, leaving Worthington in January 1964 to live with her sister Edith Ligda in California before the building was razed. Ruth Griswold was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing (Denver, CO). She lived most of her life in Worthington, Ohio. Edith Ligda married Paul Ligda and relocated to California.
