Background
Anna "Ann" Hart Brown (b. 1810, d. 1896) was the daughter of Asahel and Elizabeth Hart. Anna married Sidney Brown in 1828. Anna and Sidney Brown raised their family in the house at 12 E. Stafford known as the Buttles-Pinney-Brown House. Anna's father Asahel Hart was born in 1784 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was a nephew of Worthington Founder James Kilbourn. Asahel, a bricklayer by trade, migrated to Worthington with Kilbourn's family in 1804, but was too young to buy shares in the Scioto Company. He married Elizabeth Brown Hart (b. 1788) in 1807. Following his death in 1814 the guardianship of his three children, including Anna fell to the family of James Kilbourn.
