Obituary

HOUSTON Wilson Gray "Tex" Houston, age 95, a resident of Friendship Village Columbus and formerly a long time resident of Worthington, died September 30, 2009 at Friendship Village of Columbus. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by loving wife of 61 years Jean MacAlpine Houston and son John Campbell Houston. Survived by children, Rod (Cathy), Debbie (Gary) Payne; grandchildren, Parker and Whitney Payne. Mr. Houston was a salesman for International Shoe Company until his retirement. Memorial service 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High Street, Worthington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Amy E. Avery officiating. A private burial will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HomeReach Hospice or a charity of choice.
