Background

This photograph shows the north facade of the Sidney Brown Home, or Buttles-Pinney-Brown House, at 12 East Stafford Avenue around 1890. Anthony S. Weaver (b.1824, d. 1896) is sitting in a chair with dog on his left. Weaver married Cynthia Brown, daughter of Sidney and Anna Hart Brown, in 1849. She grew up in this home, and their son Rufus Weaver lived in the home with his wife Kate and family for nearly fifty years before his death in 1935.
