Evening Street Elementary opened in 1963 to help accommodate a booming population of families in Worthington with young children. In the 1967-68 school year, grades 1-3 from Evening Street Elementary attended the newly opened (as of October 1967) Worthington Estates Elementary. Eugene Puterbaugh transferred to Worthington Estates Elementary as its principal.
