Worthington Gleaner, February 1884

The Worthington Gleaner was a short-lived publication, and this issue was printed in February 1884. This issue contains quotes, adages and columns that convey positions on morality. Page two contains an item describing Worthington’s response to flooding on the Ohio River. It is noted that the town is "conservative and not easily moved" but then describes a strong showing during a drive to collect money and goods to distribute to people suffering. It is noted that the Worthington Public Schools recently celebrated Washington’s birthday. Additionally, it is mentioned that the "Home Gazette," a temperance paper, was recently purchased by a "Mr. Geo. Thrall." Numerous advertisements for Columbus are included along with an ad for "R.W. Evans Headquarters for Stoves, Tinware &C."
