Wedding Ceremony on the Landing at the Old Worthington Library
Basic details
Background
This color photograph shows the wedding ceremony of librarian Rachel Alexander and Bob Foulk at the Old Worthington Library on May 8, 1982.
Alexander and Foulk are shown standing on the steps facing away from the photographer; facing them is the then-Mayor of Worthington, Lawrence Braun, who officiated. Behind them on the landing is a music ensemble performing with a harpsichord, recorder and flute.
At the time, the Old Worthington Library was the only location of Worthington Libraries. The wedding took place that Saturday night, after the library closed, with food contributed by library staff. The view is taken from the top of the stairs looking down at the landing. Following a building renovation, this view is now blocked and occupied by a portion of the library's children's department.
Alexander worked for Worthington Libraries from 1976 to 1985, and again from 1997 to 2008; during that time she served many roles, including community services librarian, children’s librarian, youth services manager and youth services materials selector.
