Worthington High School Cardinals ended the regular season in 1945 with a loss to the undefeated University High School Little Buckeyes ("Baby Bucks") of Columbus. Despite the loss, Worthington was co-champion of the county league with Grove City. Worthington was the first opponent of University's to score against them in the season.
