Background

This is the tombstone of George Pinney (b. 11-22-1831, d. 11-29-1855). He was the eldest son of Miles Pinney (b. 9-6-1811, d. 11-10-1863) and Lydia Andrews Pinney (b. 10-11-1809, d. 5-8-1850) of Sharon Township, and grandson of Worthingtn pioneers Samuel Beach (b. 1749, d. 1815) and Levi Pinney (b. 1782, d. 1869). George Pinney did not marry. Miles and Lydia Pinney had 4 other chidren; Carolyn Pinney Hayes, Ellen Pinney Thompson Chapman, James Pinney, and Albertina Pinney. Miles Pinney was a Colonel in the militia and purchased the Orange Johnson farm in Worthington several years after the death of George Pinney.
