Photograph of Worthington Hills Water Tower Being Prepared for Repainting, 2020

This photograph shows the water tower on the Worthington Hills Country Club property as it appeared on August 24, 2020. Workers are shown on top of the tower preparing it to be repainted. Lines are rigged to hold a tarp that would encircle the tower during the process. This tower supplies water to the Worthington Hills neighborhood, and is owned and maintained by Aqua Ohio. The tower has been repainted a couple of times since 2000, but in 2020 the company sandblasted the tower and added new primer and paint. The tower was likely built in the early 1970s, and replaced a water tank that stood at that spot when development of Worthington Hills began in the early 1960s. This type of water tower is known as a "pedesphere" or "golf ball and tee" tank.
