Orange Johnson (b 1790, d. 1876), was a comb maker by trade from Connecticut. Johnson migrated to Ohio in 1814, attracted to the Worthington Manufacturing Company, friends and family. He married Achsa Maynard (b. 1791, d. 1882) in 1815. James Kilbourn's residence faced the southwest Village Green and his commercial building still stands just south of where the home stood along Main Street (High Street). The ball was hosted by I. S. Wilcox, W. Topping and M.D. Strong.
