Background

This is the gravestone of Elizabeth (Betsey) Goodrich (b. 1831 d. 1856), located in a small pioneer cemetery on the east side of Olentangy River Road, now known as the Goodrich Cemetery. She was wife of Ebenzer Goodrich, one of the founding members of St. John's Episcopal Church of Worthington. They settled in Liberty Township. The cemetery is the site of approximately 12 graves. This gravestone was one of several a the cemetery that had fallen down and covered by dirt and overgrowth over the years, and unearthed in June 2005 by members of the Linworth United Methodist Church youth group, the Extreme Team as a community service project.
