Background
This is a childhood portrait of Edward L. Robinson (b. 1857, d. 1934). Edward Robinson was born in Columbus, Ohio and spent his childhood there. His parents were Ashley B. Robinson and Ellen J. Robinson, both from Vermont. He was a graduate of the Yale University College of Law. He settled in Worthington in 1904 and served for several terms as Mayor of Worthington. He also served on the Village Council and was Justice of the Peace of Sharon Township. At the time of his death he was known in the community as Judge Robinson. He married Helen Day in 1881 and had two children, Lucille Robinson (d. 1933) and Helen Robinson (b. 1883, d. 1980) the latter of which was became the principal of Worthington High School.
