Background
This white cup and saucer with gold band is from the collection of John Snow (b. 1780 d. 1852) and dates to the early 19th century. John Snow married Mary Thurston (b. 1781 d. 1865) in 1802. John Snow served as master of New England Lodge No. 4 from 1818 to 1822 and 1827 to 1831. Snow moved to Worthington from Rhode Island in 1817 where he had been a jeweler and
merchant.
The Snow House, 41 W. New England, was the site of early Masonic meetings. The home is currently used as part of the Worthington Inn.
