Ann Zemon Alexander, Barbara Groseclose, Rachel Alexander and Others at Wedding at the Old Worthington Library
Basic details
Background
This color photograph shows seven people sitting, standing and conversing on the main floor of the Old Worthington Library; they are gathered for librarian Rachel Alexander's wedding, which took place in the library that evening, May 8, 1982. The three people who are fully visible in the foreground are, left to right, Ann Zemon Alexander (Rachel Alexander's mother), Barbara Groseclose and Rachel Alexander. In the background, newspaper racks can be seen, along with people perusing cakes at a table next to the far east wall of the building.
At the time, the Old Worthington Library was the only location of Worthington Libraries. Alexander's wedding to Bob Foulk took place that evening after the library closed, with food provided by staff and Worthington mayor Lawrence Braun serving as officiant.
Alexander worked for Worthington Libraries from 1976 to 1985, and again from 1997 to 2008; during that time she served many roles, including community services librarian, children’s librarian, youth services manager and youth services materials selector.
Groseclose is Professor Emeritus of Art History at The Ohio State University.
