Background
This ticket, from November 1830, admits Mr. George R. Snow (b. 1804, d. 1869) to lectures on Materia Medica by a professor, Dr. Charles E. Pierson, M.D. at the Medical College of Ohio in Cincinnati.
Snow was born in 1804 in Rhode Island to parents John and Mary Snow. The family came to Worthington during his childhood. George practiced as a physician in Worthington, and was commissioned as a Surgeon’s Mate by the Ohio Militia in 1838.
