John L. Berlet, age 92, Friday, July 30, 1999 at Whetstone Care Center. Preceded in death by wife Mildred, son Paul Hill. Survived by step-daughter, Beverly (Walter) Tortora, Worthington; nephew, Gayle (Linda) Aument, Attica, OH; grandchildren, Debra (Don) Farmer, Fla., Carla (Richard) Green, Columbus; Mary Ann (Jerry) Dunn, Hilliard; Marc (Lori) Tortora, Columbus; Marcia (Danny) Fabbro, Columbus; Stephen (Louwana) Tortora, Worthington; Scott (Genette) Hill, Va.; Randy (Cheryl) Hill, Va.;Katherine (Bill) Gallo, Pa.; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-nieces; 2 great-great-nephews. Mr. Berlet was an affable man, with a ready smile who loved people. Retired employee Franklin County Clerk of Courts Office. Member Worthington Christian Church. Active member Franklin County Republican Party, Republican Glee Club. University Lodge #631 F&AM, Scottish Rite, former member Delaware Grange.
