Herman Alter, age 72, Wednesday, September 4, 1996, Worthington Nursing Home. Retired Public Relations Consultant with United Way of America. Veteran WW II, U.S. Army. Survived by wife, Gerry An of Columbus, Oh.; children, Marc (Tamara Sorin) Alter, Columbus, Oh., Felicia (David) Gust, Columbus, Oh. and Rachel (Nikolas) Marszalek, Marin County, Calif.; grandchildren, Jordan and Devon Alter-Sorin and Jacob Gust; brother Harry (Mae) Alter; sister, Della (Morris) Zoldan, all of Youngstown, Oh.; nieces and nephews. Graduate of The Ohio State University of Youngstown, where he was a member of Sigma Delta Chi, Journalism Fraternity. Member Public Relations Society of America. Private funeral services will be held. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by the Rutherford-Corbin Chapel, 515 High St. Worthington, Oh.
