Charles Richard Backus, age 52, of 4057 Hyde Park Dr., Chester, Va., Wednesday Sept. 8, 1982, Lakewood, J.J. Salesman for Porcelain Jackets, Inc., which is a subsidiary of Lifemarkd, Inc., Houston, Tex. Survived by wife, Nene B. Backus, of Chester, Va.; sons John, of Chester, Va., and Rick of Columbus; daughter and son-in-law, Brenday and Jeff Bell, of Miami, Fla.; granddaughters, Heather and Holly Bell; brothers, Max Backus, of Dayton, Oh., and Vernon Backus, of Columbus, Oh.; sister, Jean Walters, Worthington, Oh., many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 from the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington. Dr. W. Edge Dixon officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Friday.
